In the northernmost part of Morocco, the city of Tangier beckons to travelers. Along its coasts, where the waters of the Mediterranean and Atlantic converge, you will encounter an authentic city steeped in diverse influences.
Wander through Tanger la Blanche. Explore the streets adorned with whitewashed houses and, much like Matisse and Delacroix before you, let yourself be carried away by the dreamy atmosphere that pervades the city. Navigate the alleys of the bustling “Socco,” and at the base of the towering walls of the “Kasbah,” marvel at the fortress overlooking the medina. Not far away lies the “Sultan’s Palace,” now dedicated to the arts of Morocco. Tangier also bears Spanish influences, evident in the arena on the “Plaza de Torros” and the “Cervantès” theater, constructed in 1913.
Upon your arrival, our team will greet you and provide an overview of the tour. We will then journey to the enchanting fortress town known as Chefchaouen. Famous for its blue-painted buildings and houses, Chefchaouen is one of the most picturesque towns in the Rif Mountains. You'll have free time to explore Chefchaouen at your leisure. Enjoy an overnight stay in a local Riad nestled within the medina.
Following breakfast, the journey proceeds to the captivating Roman archaeological site of Volubilis. Afterward, we make our way to Meknes, the former Imperial city, to explore its noteworthy monuments. By late afternoon, you'll arrive in Fes, where you'll delve into its bustling medina before settling in at a local Riad for the overnight stay.
After breakfast, we'll embark on a journey from Fes to Ifrane, often referred to as the Switzerland of Morocco, a charming mountain village. We'll pause at the Cedars Forest in the Middle Atlas Mountains, where you can observe apes in their natural habitat. The tour then takes us to Azrou, a Berber village located in the largest cedar forest in Morocco. Next, we'll visit Midelt, renowned for its minerals and pleasant summer weather. Traveling along the Ziz Valley, we'll make stops in Erfoud for its fossil products and Rissani to explore the local souk and savor a Berber pizza. Finally, we'll arrive at the Merzouga desert for an overnight stay in a desert hotel facing the dunes.
Day five will see you en route to Marrakech, with stops at Ouarzazate, home to renowned movie studios, and Ait Ben Haddou, a village and Kasbah famous for numerous film productions. Driving through the High Atlas Mountains via the Tizi n’Tichka mountain pass, you'll finally arrive in Marrakech. Our journey concludes as we drop you off at your hotel or provide a transfer to the airport for your departure.
