About this tour

Situated in the northern reaches of Morocco, the city of Tangier beckons travelers. Along its coasts, where the waters of the Mediterranean and the Atlantic converge, you’ll uncover an authentic city steeped in diverse influences.

Take a leisurely stroll through Tanger la Blanche, wandering the streets flanked by whitewashed houses. Follow in the footsteps of Matisse and Delacroix, allowing the dreamy atmosphere of the city to carry you away. Explore the alleys of the grand “Socco,” and at the base of the towering walls of the “Kasbah,” marvel at the fortress that commands the medina. Not far off lies the “Sultan’s Palace,” now devoted to the arts of Morocco. Tangier also bears Spanish influences, with an arena gracing the “Plaza de Torros,” and the “Cervantès” theater, a notable structure erected in 1913.

Following breakfast at the riad, our authentic journey kicks off towards Volubilis, passing through Ouazan and other Rif villages. At Volubilis, we'll explore the best-preserved Roman ruins in Morocco, delving into the archaeological history of the Moroccan site. Post-visit, we'll head to the 17th-century heritage of Meknes city, where we'll pause for lunch and explore the historic monumental walls of the medina, including Bab el Mansour and Moulay Ismail's tomb. Following the Meknes visit, we'll drive directly to Fes, where you'll spend the night.

Day 3: Fes guided tour

Today, you will embark on a guided tour to explore the vibrant medina and renowned Souks of Fes. The narrow cobbled streets are adorned with ancient mosques, towering green-glazed minarets, and distinctive Andalusian architecture, creating a captivating atmosphere throughout the old city and its monuments. Our comprehensive itinerary ensures you visit key cultural and historical sites, including the prestigious Al Qaraouine University. The tour also encompasses visits to the tanneries and the ceramic cooperative, offering insights into traditional Moroccan crafts. Your accommodation for the night will be at a hotel/riad.

Day 4: Fes – Azrou cadar forest – Midelt – Merzouga (Erg Chebbi Dunes)

We'll fetch you from your hotel/Riad and head south to Azrou, passing through Ifrane (often called the Switzerland of Morocco), and traversing the Middle Atlas mountains. A stop in the cedar forest provides the opportunity to capture captivating photos with the Barbary Apes. Our journey continues through the Atlas Mountains, offering scenic views of Midelt. After a satisfying lunch, we proceed through the Ziz Valley to Erfoud and Rissani before reaching Merzouga. Your overnight stay will be at a local hotel.

5: Merzouga area and the Camel Trekking with Night in desert camp

Following breakfast, our exploration begins with a visit to a village inhabited by people originally from Mali, immersing ourselves in their music and way of life. Subsequently, we'll journey to Miffis Mines to gain insights into their operations before venturing into a vast desert expanse, offering enchanting vistas. Here, we'll share a warm cup of tea with local Bedouins amidst the dunes. Before returning to the hotel, your local guides will provide instructions on camel riding and safety. Once prepared, you'll embark on an adventure through the enigmatic sand-sea of the Erg-Chebbi. The night will be spent in a Berber tent.

Day 6: Merzouga – Jerf – Todgha Gorges – Dades Valley

We will rise early to witness the most breathtaking sunrise of your life, as it paints different shadows and colors over the sea of sand dunes, the highest in Morocco. Following breakfast, our journey will lead us to Tinghir and the remarkable Todra Gorge, boasting the highest and narrowest gorges in Morocco. This gorge provides an excellent setting for hiking, relaxation along the river's edge, or indulging in some local Berber delicacies. After a satisfying lunch in the heart of the gorge, we'll proceed through the Dades Valley, concluding our day by spending the night in a charming hotel atop the mountain.

Day 7: Dades valley – Ouarzazat – Ait Ben Haddou kasbah – Marrakech

A brief stop at the Atlas Movie Studios in Ouarzazate precedes our drive to Ait Ben Haddou Kasbah, the largest Kasbah in Morocco, constructed by T-Hami El Glaoui. Once one of the last Berber chieftains during the early 20th century, it served as a stopover during his extensive journey from the Sahara to Marrakech. Now recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1987. After lunch, we will traverse the High Atlas Mountains, revealing panoramic views and charming Berber villages along the way, until we reach Marrakech, concluding the tour.
